Education for Educations sake

We believe fundamentally that education is one of the “Goods of Life”. It allows human beings over a lifetime to communicate, evaluate, assess, create, change, reform and discard, and think for themselves.

Education opens possibilities for employment, further academic pursuits, and a general sense of well being. It allows us, as informed individuals, to take our place in our society and accept our responsibilities.

We want our students to become thinking citizens who can and will pursue as educated, free individuals the goals and pursuits they set for themselves.

We love our subjects of History and Philosophy

The Humanities are a vital part of education.

These subjects have for far to long been determined by state agencies, political party fads, or social pressures, as regards content.

We will create our own curricular for 11-14 year olds free from others ideas: and instead trust our judgement, as those who love their subject and want it to a joyous journey of discovery. The content choices are our own. To use our own skills, our own values, as the basis for our teaching.

For the age groups of 14-16 year olds public examination courses normally begin (In a UK context they are called IGCSE).

The next level courses are at 16-18 year olds (Again in a UK context these are known as A’ Levels). We will be using public examination courses that allow progression to College and University if that is what Families and students desire for themselves.

What we do not do

Teach your or our or anyone else's values of religion.

Teach values of family life; or sexuality; or political issues; or current cultural issues to children.

Discuss issues of the day with your children.

Tutor will do none of these for you on principle.

We are tutors hired for purpose (humanities) that in no way is to be seen as a replacement or an alternative for parental choices and responsibilities in the process of socialising their children into their own culture.
